Explorers got to take the pH, temperature and oxygen levels of Green Mill Run using scientific instruments. They also got to use two different types of nets (D net and kick net) to catch aquatic invertebrates. Caddisfly larvae were very prevalent.
It was a great afternoon to wade in the creek, learn a little about water monitoring, collect some bugs and find lots of shark teeth.
Thank you to Heather Jacobs Deck and Kim Chadwick for coming out to help us learn a little more about water! And we were even lucky enough to experience another stage of the water cycle as we walked back to school, it rained!
